day my fellow student and lecturers in attendant, am Noelbix Jeez of Faculty of Management Study Department of Accountancy:
am here to throw light on randy lecturers or sex for marks in our Higher
Institution in Nigeria.
According
to Oxford Dictionary, Randy mean sexually aroused or erected having a rude
aggressive manner. Also Collins Dictionary defines Randy as someone who is
sexually excited and eager to have sex.

If
you haven’t heard about it in a long time; it’s probably because the victims
are not bold enough to expose Mr. Lecturer. Not all ladies in our Higher Institution
have the confidence to turn down lecturer’s sexual advances like Bimbo Owoyemi.
Don’t
think this piece is out to disgrace lecturer, NO! It is only teaching innocent ladies on campus to take caution.
Also am not saying our Universities and Polytechnics’ lecturers are randy shirt
chaser but of you been to Higher Institution in Nigeria, you will understand
the different ways a lecturer present his sex agenda.
THINGS LECTURERS DO TO
LURE STUDENT INTO SEX ARE:
1. When you
fail his course repeatedly: One of the most “Powerful” tools randy
lecturers use to get their victims to bed is to score her low in all her tests
and exams to ensure she fails the course. If the students fail to go to him to
save explanation, she will fail again and again and by the time she fails the
course twice, she will see reasons to talk to Mr. Randy about her carryover. Meeting
the lecturer like this, the student often end up with “you know what to do”.
Although
there are female students who lead the lecturers on when they fail and instead
of writing the carryover, they choose the substitution method to balance the
equation “you know what am saying”.
2. When he
criticized you every time: The moment the lecturer begins to say negative
things about you every time, he wants you to sexually atone for your sin. You
know best way to kill a dog is to give it a bad name; same style is adopted
here. Lecturer who uses this tactics will tag the young lady “Olodo or Coconut
Head” meaning “Empty Brain” just to shame her. He will ask her questions
outside the top of discussion just to disgrace her. It is a wicked tactics and
if the lecturer does not go to the “root of the matter” criticism will follow
such student like a network wherever she goes. Other lecturers may also join to
victimize the student. When this happen to you ask your lecturer to tell you
your offence.
3. When he
loves to see you answering questions: Others might think the lecturer is
friendly but not knowing there is an agenda behind the friendly face.
For instant, there are over hundred students in the
class, but throughout a whole week, Mr. Lecturer is interested in calling a
particular female student in the front row to answer all his questions. This
might not because the lady is outstandingly brilliant but he wants to create an
impression that she is brilliant and of course every lecturer loves brilliant
student.
CAUSES OF RANDY LECTURER
(SEX FOR MARKS IN OUR HIGH INSTITUTIONS)
1. Poor Standard of education:
Poor Standard of education in Nigerian Public Schools is cause by lack of
motivation in the sector, inadequate funding, facilities and poor management.
Hence there are few and unqualified teachers, frequent going on strike and poor
learning process.
2. Lack of digital literacy:
Institutions are charge with developing students, digital citizen, ensuring
mastery of responsible and appropriate technology use including online
communication etiquette and digital rights and responsibilities in blended and
online learning setting and beyond.
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR
LECTURER HARASSES YOU (FEMALE STUDENT)
1. Do
not show any sign of fear
2. Don’t
show any facial expression that will fuse him the impression that you are
helpless; rather be strong and don’t say anything till he’s done.
3. If
he stands up to start touching and holding you; tell him you will tell your
friends or that you told your friends you were coming to his office and you beg
to leave.
4. Don’t
be saucy
5. If
the lecturer when next he calls you; record your conversation and do not
blackmail him rather do to appropriate authority and report. Make sure you
don’t play the record unless you are asked for evidence.
SOLUTIONS TO SEX FOR MARKS
(RANDY LECTURERS) IN SCHOOL
1. Improve standard of education: A
University runs around a calendar or date: there is a time for everything, time
for lecture, continuous assessments, exams and release of results.
Unfortunately, some of these are not properly monitored by the appropriate
authority.
2. Campaign
against randy lecturer
3. Such
issues should not be treated with lighter hand
4. Create
appropriate channels to report such cases with victimization of both party
involves.
