Review from the last episode
"I'm going up to my room to freshen up" Sharron announced and went up to her room
Minutes later, a long shrilling scream jolted Evans from his dozing body.
Evans
Sharron's scream woke me up, her scream reminds me of someone yet again. Her sobs came fast and hard. I ran up the stairs to her room, taking the steps two at a time.
I opened the door forcefully and I caught sight of her in a bathrobe standing at the bathroom door. Her body shaking with sobs. My first instinct is to pull her close but instead I stood at the entrance and watched her.
"What’s it?" I asked in a bored voice
She turned to me with her tears soaked eyes and my heart constricted at the expression on her face. I didn't know when my legs start moving towards her. The expression was one of pure terror, undiluted fear.
I got to the entrance and peeked into the bathroom to search for what made her scream.
Laying in the bathtub in its own pool of blood laid a German Shepherd dog staring at me accusingly and written on the wall with the animal's blood is "THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING"
"Who could be so inhuman to kill a poor dog?" my heart bled at the sight and bled even more for Sharron.
"I need to work on the security of this house"
I wrapped my hands around her and led her to another room. "Stay here, this place is safe" I told her and made to leave but he stopped me.
"Pls, I can't stay alone, I wouldn't mind sleeping on the floor in your room, don't leave me here" her voice cracked and more tears poured from her eyes.
"Father pls return the annoying and cheerful Sharron, I don't want this person standing in front of me that looks so broken." I nod instead and took her to my room.
She laid the bed sheet she had taken from the other room on the floor and made to sleep there still in her bathrobe.
"Come and sleep on the bed" I said to her.
She jumped fast at the opportunity, perhaps she thought I would change my mind and laid on the bed facing the wall.
I watched her body shaking as she sobbed silently so I laid on the bed and cuddled her body to mine.
Few minutes later, she stopped crying and slept off after leaving an involuntary sigh of satisfaction.
Next Morning
I had little sleep after Sharron slept. I was pacing the room thinking things over and over again, making connections and finding loopholes but still everything leads to Steve. Not that I'm accusing him, he's at the best position to kill Jessica and after him is her adopted father who also goes by the Initials E.S.
So I called my detective and asked him to run a background check on both of them. I also made a call to a cleaning company to send some cleaners that'll help clean Sharron's room.
I went to the room and selected a few of her clothes and underwears for her that she can change to when she wakes up.
"Sharron? Are you okay?" I asked as I entered the room and saw her fix her gaze on the wall.
No response
"Sharron??" I called again
No response
"Come on, don't get me worried sick, just give me a response or something that'll show you're still alive" I pleaded
She only flicked her eyeballs at me then back to the wall
"Phew!" I breathed out "that's something, I brought your clothes for you, go and freshen up"
She looked at me with horror and shook her head hard
"I'll stand by the door, in case you need help just scream"
She searched my eyes for proofs I wouldn't leave her
"I cross my heart" I said
She sighed and stood up going to the bathroom after collecting the bag from her.
True to my words, I stood by the door till she finished bathing. By the time she came out, her face had a little color.
I went to the kitchen to prepare her for and she trailed after me afraid of being left alone.
I finished cooking and dished out her food on the kitchen table. She stared at it long then pushed it away.
"Come on" I groaned "you have to eat"
She started picking her nails with a neutral expression.
"if you don't eat, I'll be forced to stop investigating" I tried again
She looked at me as if daring me to stop and went back to picking her nails unfazed.
In the early evening, I suggested we go for a stroll which she agreed by just a nod.
When we were coming back from the evening stroll, a car parked in front of us. The passenger door opened and before I could say jack, Sharron was forced into the car. The car tires screeched and they drove off but not before putting a bullet through my chest.
I felt myself plummeting to the floor, blood oozed out of my chest . I heard people screaming and running, probably to come to my rescue or running for their lives. My back hit the floor hard but I didn't feel any pain, isn't that weird? My eyes closed on its own and I embarrassed the black.
