The Revenge Episode 6

"Well, sorry to break the news. Ms. Jessica is dead
"What!!!!!!!" Sharron screamed as tears sprung to her eyes. These tears do know when they're needed
"What happened to her?" she asked
"She was found dead in her apartment, someone just called in now to report"

The phone fell from her hand and she looked up to find Steve's eyes on her, staring at her worriedly. She turned her back and ran all the way to Jessica's house. The tears kept falling heavily on their accord like it knows someone dear to it had left the world.

Steve ran outside to see if he can catch a glimpse of her and know where she's headed. Of course, he doesn't know about Jessica's death so he brought out his phone to dial her number. After several trials and she did not answer, he smashed his phone on the wall destroying it completely.

"aaarrrrrrgghhh" he screamed frustrated. "could it be she found out my secret" he thought with dread.

Sharron kept running fast, ignoring the stares she was receiving. Sooner than she thought, she got there and saw police surround the house and it has been taped all round indicating it's a crime scene and kept out of bound for others. She walked briskly to the entrance but was interrupted by a policeman.

"Hey miss, you are not allowed to go in" he said blocking her path
"I'm Jessica's friend and we only have each other, I need to see her corpse before I believe she's truly dead" She tried saying but not came out, she was still in a shocked state so she just looked at the policeman blankly and shook her head before pushing him out of her way.

When she got to the entrance, two policemen ran out, running towards a short man with pot belly who obviously is their leader, fear evident on their face and right in cue, two FBI agents arrived the scene and walked towards the same man.

"What's going on?" She asked herself and head towards him too but at a slower pace, getting there just in time to see the policemen trying everything possible to gain their leader's attention.
"What is it young men?" the Sheriff asked irritatedly, clearly annoyed he was interrupted.

"Sir the body is gone" The oldest of them said.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment. Everywhere going silent, even the Police siren seemed to take a deep breath before it continued singing.
"What did you just say?" The Sheriff asked, his expression hardening.

"W-we can't find the body sir, Seems someone already took it Sir"
"You fools, how you can you be so careless to lose the body" the Sheriff shouted, enraged
"Well, well, well, it was nice coming here after all; we'll be on our way now.

We have more important things to do" one of the agents said “I wasn't even interested in this case" he muttered under his breath for his colleague to hear.

"Like my colleague here said, we'll be on our way, send in your report and whatever evidence you can gather, never knew the police are so incompetent. it's no wonder we we're ordered from the higher ups to be here"

The Sheriff watched as the agents walked back to their car and turned to young men beside him.
"you nincompoops, you just ruined our chance to work with the FBIs" he said eyeing there and walked fast towards his car.

"Sir please wait" Sharron shouted running after him, what happened to my friend's body and is she truly dead?" She asked
"Yeah she's truly dead, it was confirmed and as for her body, you can go look for it yourself. Are you Sharron?"

"Yes" she said nodding
" I wanted to collect your statement, but I don't need it again, sorry you your loss" he said nonchalantly and to the policemen he shouted" Hey boys let's go and whatever report you have with you, throw it away, let's those arrogant agents get their own report themselves, we are helping no body" and walked towards his car leaving Sharron stunned.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry for your loss, here are the reports in case you need it and there are pictures there too. I'll advise you not to go inside now, you should come back tomorrow morning. even if anything is tampered with before you get there, the pictures here have all you need." the youngest of them said to her and made to leave but stopped at the last moment " we can't say if it's Suicide or murder Ms., there were signs of struggle but her fingerprints are on the gun and she left a suicide letter" he added before leaving.

It was dead in the midnight when Sharron was finally able to move her legs to walk. She had sat on a bench and cried her eyes out.
As she walked home one step at time with her heart heavy, a paper landed at her feet. She looked around before picking it up. She opened it and read.
Written in bold letters were " I CAN SEE YOU AND ANY MOVE YOU TAKE.
WATCH YOUR BACK
