After six years of imprisonment, he was later released and he found out that he was in the dungeon of the same empire which he had tried earnestly to overtake for many years.
He started travelling to all the corners of the empire, he was very surprised to see his chiefs sitting together making merry, enjoying themselves and dinning with other kings, queens, princes and princesses.
He walked to his chiefs and tried to din with them but the guards wouldn’t let him because nobody actually knew him and few of his chiefs who knew him pretended they know him not to maintain their reputation. When he left the scene, he was astonished by his chief’s behaviour towards him.
He then travelled to the emperor’s palace to meet with the emperor and his chiefs, but before he could get to the emperor, the guards interrogated him requesting him to identify himself. And he asked, is this the emperor’s palace? Yes, it is. You are? The guard answered and asked:
“The former king of the newly formed empire” “okay, who are you looking for, the princes or the emperor?” said the guard. Yes, I want to see the emperor, hold on” said the guard. Some minutes later the guard came back and told him, he could go inside. So he went in.
The emperor seeing him welcomed him with a great laugh loudly saying “you fool, you come to meet me again” his chief’s friends laughed him to scorn.
He shouted at one of his chiefs whom he helped years back “how dare you?” And the emperor ordered his guards to throw him into the dungeon. There he wept severely. When his chiefs came to meet him they laughed aloud at him.
He was fury and surprise what could give them such gut to laugh aloud at him. They told him how foolish he was by believing that he was an emperor when he was just a mere king of a small kingdom. He was furious and said that he would kill them when he comes out of the prison.
He foolishly thought that he was still a king of the empire he newly formed. Everything was taken from him and a new king was crowned. He spent the rest of his life in the dungeon thinking he was an emperor. He became slave to other prisoners and he died.
