2 DAYS TO CHRISTMAS
We got to church a very late thanks to Camille and James who were playing love.
Mum and Dad left us earlier since they're ministers
We're got there just in time to hear the last Carol song

After the Carol songs, we took pictures with the supposed Santa Claus who almost looked like an obese.
"Ari" father called me after the Service, "I'll be going to the grocery store with Chris and your mum"
"Okay Dad"
"And James, take care of your little sister"
For the first time in a very, very long time "Sure Dad" James answered happily
"Can we go to the mall, I need clothes for our outing tomorrow" Gisela whispered to me in the car
"You don't need fancy clothes Marie"
"I need them to look my best, who knows a guy might hit on me" not the other way round" she added quickly when she saw the look on my face
"James, the mall please" I said
"What happened to the mall?" he asked
"Take us there"
"Why?
"Just keep shut and take us to the mall" I snapped
"Fine" I heard him grumble
In the Afternoon
"Do you think Santa Claus would grant my wish?" Chris asked, looking up at me with wide green eyes
"Yes, he'll do" Camille answered
"Are you sure?"
"Yes I am" I answered instead to save Camille from the series of questions about to be asked
"Will I get my......." Chris said but was interrupted by Gisela
"Shhhhh....... no one must hear your wish or it wouldn't come true" Gisela cautioned
"Thank God she had the wisdom to say something sensible" I thought
We sat down cross-legged, cutting papers and ribbons to decorate our house. While mum and dad stayed in kitchen.
I was lost in my thoughts but was jolted out of it by Gisela squealing while Chris looked around smiling shyly.
I searched for the center of attention and found it or rather them.
Cam's and James' face were inches apart and before I could say Jack, their lips interlocked in an intense kiss.
I scrambled up to my feet and rushed to Chris side, covering her face with both hands
"You guys should get a room, this is called child abuse and violation of privacy and rights" I yelled and they chuckled into each other's mouth instead.
"Remove your hands Ari, a ten year old is not a baby anymore and besides I've seen more than what you're covering my eyes for" Chris scoffed
My hands dropped in shock and my mouth wide open as I stared at the little girl in front of me looking at me with wide innocent eyes.
"Children of nowadays!!!"
"What's going on here?" Father's baritone voice sliced through the air.
Cam and James broke their kiss and looked at anywhere but dad's, their embarrassed look is enough punishment for me
"I'm proud of you son, you finally let someone in" Dad grinned and left for the kitchen
"What!!!!!" I yelled in shock
"Where's my dad and what have you done to him?" I asked dad's retreating back
He only turned around and winked at me, immediately he entered the kitchen their lips met again in a more passionate kiss
"Where's the family I grew up with?" I lamented and left the living room for my room because staying there and looking at them can arouse even the dead.
THE FOLLOWING DAY
The first thing that greeted me on the morning was a text message from Lucas. I don't know if I should blush he still has my number
💬"you up?" He texted
💬"Yeah why?"
💬"Are we still going out today?"
💬"Sure"
💬 "Okay thanks, see you later"
A warm feeling rose in my chest at the prospect of seeing him later.
I stood with all smiles and met everyone busy with one thing or the other.
"Morning Mum and Dad" I greeted kissing their cheeks
"Morning dear"
"Why didn't anyone wake me up?"
"Nothing dear, but now you are awake can you run to the grocery store for me, I forgot to by some things yesterday". "And James" she called out "Go and wait for your cousins in the airport, they'll arrive anytime soon"
"Okay mum" James replied and took the car key
"Which car would I take mum, since James is taking that?"
"Just stroll dear, please it's just a few blocks away from here" Mum pleaded
I nodded and took the grocery list from her
"Gisela, please can you clean the guest rooms?" mum asked
"Mum..... Gisela hates cleaning" I wanted to say
"Okay momma, I'll clean it to the best" Gisela answered and gave me a small smile when she saw me gasp
"Camille and Chris, please come and be our guest of honor in the kitchen. I need you to taste the food prepared and comment on it"
"Yaaaayyyyyy......" Chris and Camille pumped their fists in the air and high fived.
I rolled my eyes and walked out. When I got out, I looked to the other side and found Lucas washing his car.
"Hi" he said and waved
"Hi" I waved back and walked faster to avoid a chit chat.
When I got back, my house became totally different with lots of people going and coming. Its custom for all our family members to come spend Christmas in our home since hours is the biggest.
"Ari, you've really grown up" Aunt Elaine said and pulled me into a hug. Not long, everybody in the house pulled me into hug one by one. Some even had the guts to ruffle my hair.
I smiled all through to show my appreciation for their Love
"Ari come see your Christmas gift" Uncle Pete said and led me out, other members following us
"What could my gift possibly be doing outside" I thought
I was blindfolded and lead to the backyard
"Okay, you can open the blindfold" he said
I opened it and what I saw made me shocked beyond words.
